1. Welcome to the first World Conference on Creative Economy here in Bali, one of the most important centers of creative industries in the world.

2. In this era of globalization and advanced technology the creative industry has become “a game changer”.

 One of the most dynamic sectors, creative economy contributes significantly to global growth.
 In 2015, it generated at least $2.250 billion, employed 29.5 million jobs.
 Equivalent to 3% of world GDD and 1% of the world’s active population.
 At the same time technology has become an enabler for creative economy to sky rocket
 Making the industry more inclusive
 Technology allows people from all walks of life to participate in the value chain and break down borders.

3. As a Foreign Minister the three top priorities that I always have in mind. First: Cooperation Second: Cooperation and Third: Cooperation.

4. Therefore, we are here today not to define nor defend what creative economy is but to share ideas to collaborate to nurture the development of global creative economy.

5. Prosperity for all applies in our efforts to develop creative economy no one left behind principle must be applied.

6. I am glad that the theme of this Conference is “Inclusive creative”.

7. Creative economy must not be exclusive only to those with great means.

8. It must open up opportunities for everyone, I repeat everyone.

9. A number of examples of inclusiveness in creative economy:

 The music industry has become a prominent driver for employment, export and tax revenue.

 The publishing industry makes education more accessible more inclusive through the availability of text books in traditional and digital forms.

10. With today’s vast technological development and globalization creative economy can be truly inclusive and accessible for everyone everywhere from every corner of the world.

11. We must continue to combine the strength of logics, the beauty of imagination and the marvel of technology including digital technology all in one basket called Innovation!

12. Therefore, our task is to strengthen partnership for innovation.

13. Creative economy must also empower and prosper the people.

14. It is vital to monetize the growth of the creative industry turning creativity into tangible wealth.

15. Global collaboration to foster inclusive creative economy is needed to support the attainment of our SDGs.

16. Creative economy is not a new phenomenon in Indonesia.

17. Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage has enable us to develop our creative industries, fashion, culinary, arts and craft, as well as entertainment.

18. It has become an anchor for our economy allowing it to remain strong in the face of economic crisis.

19. We have more than enough creative modalities stemming from 700 ethnicities across the archipelago.

20. I am confident that in not too distant future Indonesia can become regional capital of creative economies in Southeast Asia.

21. Indonesia is moving toward a promising path.

 Contributing to more than 7.4 % of Indonesia’s GDP.

 Our creative sector is home to almost 17 Million workers, 14% of the total workforce, in which 54% are Women.

 The landscape of this sector has changed, proving that creative economy could be the drive towards equal opportunities.

22. The first World Conference on Creative Economy is an effort to connect multi-dimensional elements and stakeholders of the creative economy.

23. Your participation and contribution at this Conference will mark a global milestone for a more inclusive world economy.

24. Yesterday the meeting of Friends of Creative Economy was held.

25. We very well understand that synergy is needed, to be more exact the Penta – Helix synergy is needed a synergy of academics, business, community, government and media.

 A synergy to develop a sound and enabling environment regulations and ecosystem

26. With this kind of synergy I am sure that we will be able to reach the impossible.

27. Just two months ago Indonesia hosted The Asian Games that captured, and unleashed not only the “Energy of Asia” but also the “Attention of the World Citizen”.

 Setting the bar high for a creative and state of the art opening, closing, and organization

 It was not only a sports competition; but a celebration of cultural diversity, and creativity that fuels the creative economy.

 The Asian Games is a reflection of a global collaboration in creative economy employed more than 10.000 creative people from multiple nationalities, empowered by the rich culture and advancement of technology creating an amazing showcase of entertainment not only for Asia, but also the world.

28. The Indonesian government is fully committed to take on a larger role for the development of the global creative economy.

29. I hope that the World Conference on Creative Economy can be a catalyst in garnering global commitments to establish a Center of Excellence for Creative Economy.

 That positively contributes to the creation of a better and more inclusive global economy.

30. Our youths are the main source of creative energy.

 That continues to ignite disruptive powers to make the world a better place.

31. So let us take our ties and jackets off, roll-up our sleeves and work together to reach new breakthroughs that will rock the world.
