Jakarta, InfoPublik - General Election Observer Titi Anggraini, has requested the General Election Commission (KPU) to extend the duration of the next presidential election debate.
"The 90 minutes provided time is not enough to for the candidates to deliver their statements comprehensively," said Titi Anggraini in Jakarta on Saturday (19/1).
In the first debate, she continued, both candidates were rushing in deliberating their points in order to fit all their the theme-related substance in the dedicated time. She is concerned that the insufficient time will hamper the candidates from putting in excellent performance.
“The debate and the candidates were lackluster and shallow," she added.
The presidential debate is a medium for the people to get to know the candidates who might be their leaders for the next five years. Through the debate people can find out which candidate is best to represents their needs.
"The presidential debate is a moment for interaction between the candidates and the people," she said.
