Jakarta, InfoPublik – Factual verification of political parties at the regional level did not consider 30 percent woman representation.
"At the regional level, the focus is on the political parties’ management and office address. Woman representation is only at the central board [DPP] level," said General Election commissioner Ilham Saputra in his written statement on Wednesday (1/31).
According to Ilham, political party verification at the provincial level is only checking the management completeness and actual location in the region.
"Regency/city level verification includes the examination of the board, office, and member sampling," he added.
The Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) member Mochamad Afifuddin said the 30 percent women representation is not one of the assessment components in factual verification process at the regional level. (Translator: Wilda Stiana)
