Kevin, Marcus win three-peat at India Open after a victory over Danish pair

Jakarta, InfoPublik – After winning Indonesia Masters 2018 badminton tournament, Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo and Marcus Fernaldi Gideon continued their success at India Open 2018. They bagged a three-peat in the men’s doubles category in New Delhi.

In the final match at Siri Fort Sport Complex on Sunday (2/4), Kevin and Marcus as the favorite winners managed to defend the India Open champions 2016 and 2017 titles.

The third title was won by Kevin and Marcus after a win over fourth favorite winners from Denmark, Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen. Kevin and Marcus won two straight games 21-14 and 21-16 in 38 minutes.

The match was tight in the first game, but they managed to dominate the game and lead after score 6-4. The second game was easier for them as they led the scores.

This is the second champion title for Kevin and Marcus in 2018. The success became a moral boost to face the 2018 Badminton Asia Team Championships in Malaysia next week which is also qualifying the Thomas and Uber Cups.
