Jakarta, InfoPublik - Home Affairs Minister Tjahjo Kumolo had annulled thousands of Home Affairs Ministerial regulations as well as the regional regulations to ease and accelerate the licensing process.

"We have scrapped nearly 1,326 of our ministerial and regional regulations, and right now, we are evaluating another 50 bylaws that inhibiting a licensing process,” Home Affairs Minister stated in his written statement on Tuesday (5/22).

Minister Tjahjo appealed his staff to provide the best service to the community. Public services such as the issuance of family register (KK), birth certificate, electronic ID card, and other matters must be completed within minutes.

"For example, the issuance of family register, birth certificate, e-ID card must be done in 10 minutes, because we already have all the materials needed ," he said.

Meanwhile, public services in licensing and recommendation issuance must be completed within one hour.

"Recommendations, permits, any form of public services should be done in one hour," he added.

President Joko Widodo, Minister Tjahjo continued, had asked him to reform central and local governance to be more effective and efficient.

"The objectives of this effort are to accelerate bureaucratic reform and strengthen regional autonomy," he concluded. (Translator: Rina Alexandra)
