Nusa Dua, Info Publik - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs who is also the Head of the National Committee of the 2018 Annual Meetings of IMF-WBG Luhut Binsar Panjaitan stated that the implementation of Annual Meetings run as planned and no disturbances were found.

“To date, everything runs well, no disturbances, even Standard Charter and Citibank leaders told me that Indonesia is extraordinary in organizing this event,” Luhut said at the Bali Art Collection, Nusa Dua, Bali, Saturday (13/10).

Luhut went on to explain that there was also a delegation who told him that what Indonesia had done in organizing this event was truly classy. Indonesia is now entering the world class, as it is successful in organizing this kind of world event.

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, also said that the implementation of the 2018 AM of IMF-WB this time will become the standard for the implementation of next event.

“The next Annual Meetings will be held in Morocco two years ahead. The delegation from Morocco told me that Indonesia is very extraordinary in organizing this event, so that it would be a concern for Morocco because they must be better than Indonesia in organizing the Annual Meetings,” Sri Mulyani said, adding that many delegations appreciated infrastructure development in Bali.

“Those who came to Bali, five, ten or 25 years ago and just returned again are so appreciative of Indonesia, especially Bali, in terms of infrastructure development. Indonesia delivers in building infrastructure and they believe that other regions in Indonesia have also good infrastructure,” Sri Mulyani said.

In the meantime, Bali Governor I Wayan Koster said that the implementation of this event gave pride to the people of Bali.

According to him, the 2018 AM of IMF-WBG also provides short-term benefits that are directly enjoyed by Balinese people. “The real short-term benefits are infrastructure improvements,” I Wayan Koster said, adding that the construction of Ngurah Rai underpass, the development of Ngurah Rai airport with the expansion of landing aircraft to welcome this event was a direct benefit for Bali.

“Thus, Bali tourism has a stronger image and delegates totaling more than 14,000 people will in turn become Bali tourism spokespersons in their respective countries,” I Wayan Koster concluded.
