Nusa Dua, InfoPublik - Indonesia is optimizing its effort to attract investors in the International Monetary Fund-World Bank Group 2018 Annual Meetings.

"Indonesia is an attractive destination for strategic investment, because now Indonesia's development direction has changed," said Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut B. Pandjaitan, who specifically took the time to directly examine the Indonesia Communication Center (ICOM) of the AM 2018 on Saturday (10/13).

Previously, Coordinating Minister Luhut made a statement in a Joint Seminar with S&P on Infrastructure and Sustainable Financing and Asia Sovereign Rating Outlook in Nusa Dua Bali, Friday (12/10). "We will provide profitable investments for all. The scheme is through blended finance. This is a special forum that accommodates funding from various sources. The goal is specifically to support sustainable development," said National Committee Chairman of the AM 2018.

Currently the Indonesian Government is focusing its development on connectivity infrastructure, with development equality as the main focus of President Joko Widodo's administration. "In the past, development was concentrated in Java and Sumatra alone. Now infrastructure development is accelerated to all over Indonesia, from Sabang to Merauke," explained Luhut.

Infrastructure development acceleration is aimed at increasing economic growth in all parts of Indonesia. In addition, the aim is to suppress logistic costs and reduce prices of goods in areas outside Java.

The most prominent projects to be seen is the construction of 2,700 km of Trans-Sumatra toll road and the opening of new 1,920 km roads along the Kalimantan border. The priorities of the development are not only on land accessibility, but also on air and marine accessibilities. These development projects have become shared focus.

"Wamena airport used to have a small terminal. Now it has been transformed into an international standard airport. So is the port. We built five major seaports to strengthen maritime access, namely, Kuala Tanjung, Tanjung Priok, Tanjung Perak, Makasar, and Bitung," explained Luhut.

With this development progress, the Coordinating Minister called investors not to hesitate investing in Indonesia. "Come and bring investment to Indonesia", said Luhut. (Gusti Andry/Translator: Penni Patmawati)
