Jakarta, InfoPublik - The Ministry of Manpower is determined to be a good host for Indonesia’ G20 Presidency in the field of employment.

The Ministry of Manpower will strive not only to make the event a success, but also to provide policy formulation so that it can be mutually agreed upon.

"A good host is a host who successfully organize the event. We also want to be a host who can deliver our ideas into a joint commitment," said Secretary General of the Ministry of Manpower, Anwar Sanusi, in the opening of The First Employment Working Group (EWG) Meeting in Jakarta, Tuesday, March 8, 2022.

According to Anwar Sanusi, hosting the G20 in employment sector will provide benefits for Indonesia. First, Indonesia will be seen as equal to the G20 member countries.

We see the impact of becoming the host, we will able to show that Indonesia is on par with other countries in the G20," said Anwar Sanusi.

Another benefit, said Anwar, is that Indonesia will get experience and best practice from G20 countries in dealing with various labor issues.

According to him, although each country has different experiences and problems in the field of employment, there will be a number of common experiences and ideas on employment that can be taken as lessons and policy formulation on employment.

"We learn from the similarities to generate policy formulations that can later be implemented by the country concerned, and of course can provide significant protection for workers and laborers," he explained.

In the G20 Forum in the field of employment, Indonesia carries the main theme “Improving the Employment Condition to Recover Together”.

This theme is to support the main theme of the G20 Indonesia Presidency: “Recover Together, Recover Stronger”.

The G20 in the field of employment will include 5 separate meetings, consists of 4 Employment Working Group (EWG) meeting and 1 Labor and Employment Ministers Meeting.
